We had a terrible experience with this company. The social worker they sent was completely inept and caused our family a great deal of upset during a difficult time. I do not recommend this AccentCare Hospice at all.
I am very torn by this reveal that I'm about to post. The nursing staff has been amazing. They have taken wonderful care of my sick family member. That being said, the social worker assured us that they would be putting him into a facility the next day to help us with this. Then of course the next day comes around and we are told that we are on a waiting list and it can be as little as a few hours or as much as it days before there's a bed available for him. We were referred by Christiana to Accent. Although I think there are some opportunities for improvement in terms of communicating the steps that need to take place, I give five stars for the care and compassion my father received. From intake, to the nurse who came every week, to the social worker, to the pastor, and to the nurse who arrived when he passed. They were top notch people.
Hospice brought in a filthy, smelly mattress with holes and slits. Told the man to get it out of my house. Then the bed. It looked as if it was picked from the dump. Motor underneath made a dangerous, loud grinding sound. AFTER I complained, they brought a cleaner mattress and quieter bed. Drugs that were supposed to be delived overnight took 4 days. No matter what, every concern was answer with a "isn't this beautiful, he is dying". Every question or explanation, I was told to give him more morphine and/or oxy. Not eating, ... read more
