Absolute Sound Labs has been an authorized McIntosh Service facility, since 1968, and as such we would be happy to evaluate your McIntosh equipment. We service both in-warranty and out of warranty McIntosh products. Several years ago, McIntosh limited their servicing of older tube and early solid state equipment at the factory. Sent my C-26 in a right box from audio classic. They send my unit back in a different generic box, after complain they never call me back. (Evans) be careful.
Excellent service and honesty. Evan was very passionate and knowledgeable. I appreciated his attention to detail and explanation of service options (full restoration vs. fix immediate problem). I will use them again as I purchase more vintage equipment.
I Brought my 50-year-old Sansui 8080 in to have a complete restoration. Lights were burnt out and the FM was barely working. They said up front that it would take 3 to four months to get completed. I just got it back and hooked everything back up. I was blown how everything sounded. They brought my FM back to life. Not only does it look like brand new, it sounds like it is brand new maybe better . If you need receiver work done, I highly recommend them, they do outstanding work. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I brought my 50-year old Marantz 2270 stereo receiver to Absolute Sound Labs for a complete restoration after the unit had a “catastrophic failure” in the power supply. That failure could likely have been due to both age and the presence of some counterfeit output devices from a cleaning and “tuneup” some years earlier at another audio equipment store.
