My wife saw this place online so while visiting from Florida, we drove over from Stamford to check it out. So yeah, we're the tourists that seem to really like this place. I loved the lobster! Yes, I know, you're all used to it and eat it regularly but for somone from the 'big crayfish state', I was impressed by not only the food but the atmosphere. Next time you think you got it rough, try a trip to the Mt. Dora Seafood Festival for some 'fried hell' and you'll appreciate what you have! No, I'm not related ☺
I have eaten at Abbotts many times over the years despite it being a 30 minute drive away. I have always loved it until yesterday (9/27/2015). My wife had lobster bisque and a lobster in the shell and was happy with her meal. I had crab cakes that were barely warm at best and a lobster roll that I was expecting to be hot but unfortunately was not. It was not even warm. It was a disappointing experience.
If you only want lobster this is a good place to go, I guess, great view for sure but we were disappointed in the NE Chowder, barely warm and very "fishy" tasting, Lobster Bisque, barely warm, barely any lobster, the hot crab roll was virtually tasteless and the cole slaw wasn't good either....
Love it and hope to see all y'all there!! Best lobster in 100 miles!!
The food was outstanding and the view totally fabulous. The 1lb Lobster Roll is no Joke!!!! In the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger "I'll be back"
