On Monday morning, February 19th, 2024, I had a ruptured brain aneurysm with a large sub arachnoid haemorrhage. I was taken by ambulance to the RAH and had the absolute good fortune to be assigned to neurosurgeon Professor Amal Abou-Hamden. She undertook a 6-hour surgery requiring de compressive craniectomy (partial skull removal).
