I would recommend this zoo over the other because it has a great location. You have all day to see the zoo, go the botanical gardens and if you have a few hours In between the Lake Front is right across the street. Regarding the zoo I love it bc staff is friendly. The animals are always active when I go. I love getting out to exercise also. You see many people on the running paths. Very pretty location.
This was a great zoo. Free admission, naturalistic exhibits, and the fact that they learn from their mistakes are all driving forces in it being one of the greatest zoos I have been to.

I love this place and i recommend for everbody!!!
I haven't been there since 2000. They have done so many changes. Reduced animals and enclosures. The children zoo is nothing but monkey bars for kids and a few aquariums. Lots of cafes, souvenir shops , and a train. But the enclosures is still very small in the Animals still exhibit stress Behavior. Very sad for these ambassadors. I didn't see any signs showing the zoos conservation efforts or programs. That is also very sad. I don't believe I'll be going back or funding this institution.
This is a terrible ratchet zoo the animals do t even like it needs to be closed down asap
