This place had the best service and hands down one of the best briskets and side items I've ever eaten. Their sides are unique and very tasty..

A little lite on the pulled pork portions but still, very good! Table top BBQ sauce very good, wear your Kansas City Chiefs/ Royals gear and the pit master will come out and visit with you. They even play KC area jazz and blues musicians albums for background music. So, if you are from the KC area, this is home away from home, including the KU book in the bookshelf!

Really good meats and sides - a little different than most Texas BBQ places. From people who know I hear this is authentic Kansas City fare. The thinner sauce is really interesting and the KC sauce is wonderful. Sides are also tasty - I wonder if they "went a little Texas" with the jalapeno cheese grits, which hint more than burn but are tasty. If you are used to the big name Texas places in town, try this. You should be pleasantly surprised!

Nice atmosphere - there at an off hour so not overwhelmed but might as well have been. Extremely slow service - ribs were good but not up to true Texas Standards - also collards. I took one bite and literally could not get them out of my mouth fast enough - tasted like someone had poured sugar syrup - not the hint sometimes used - they were disgustingly sweet. Asked for a roll - took 15 minutes to get and the center was still frozen. I want to like this place but they are going to have to pick it up if they want to compete i... read more

I'm impressed with their commitment to customer satisfaction. A few weeks ago, I placed a to-go order over the phone and sat down at the bar to wait for it. I sent a few texts, checked Facebook, and didn't notice that time had gone by. When I looked up, I was greeted with my delicious brisket tacos to go and free coupons for burnt ends and okra. Management felt that I had waited for too long and thought the situation required rectification. I applaud their efforts to ensure my experience was more than just positive. I'll kee... read more
