I should have checked the reviews before choosing this nail salon. Lesson learned—believe the ratings you see. The pedicure was very poorly done, and there was a strong focus on tipping rather than quality. They insisted tips be paid in cash and claimed the ATM was “free,” yet it charged a fee. Honestly, the work was so bad it looked like a child painted my toes—I could have done a better job myself at home. I only come here when I am not able to go to my go to salon in Manhattan, and whenever I leave this place I feel like: meh, it looks decent. It is not terrible, but you can see that it is not top notch work. That said, I pay $40 for perfection in my go to salon (regular manicure!) and $18 here. I am giving them an additional star for pricing. Hiring the best professionals has a cost, if one wants perfection, they need to know will be pricey. Upsetting experience! I had a manicure at this salon, and while my nails looked fine from a distance, up close they were uneven and very poorly painted. I didn’t want to complain in the moment and still left a 13% tip. However, the way I was looked at for leaving “only” 13% felt extremely rude and unprofessional.
