RecommendedAs a new 2019 member of the board I am engaged in helping the Center with Community Engagement. This is a small but mighty center located North of Boston making a huge impact. I hope to be able to support the work of the community and guiding teacher here and look forward to educating the public on what this center has to offer.
This is a wonderfully soulful place. Even in a busy part of town, you can feel the calm before you even open the door. Myozen Joan Amaral is the real deal -- gentle, wise, aware. I am not terribly "religious" -- in terms of knowing Buddhism theology and terminology. But I do feel a strong spiritual current in my life -- and I feel grateful that this beautiful place exists and has proven so welcoming.

My daughter and I attended the practices this morning for the first time and found everyone there welcoming and inviting. We had very little idea of what to expect and were able to comfortably follow along. We will certainly be going back.
Pleasant people in a lovely, calming environment, who make all who practice, visit, or inquire feel welcome.
Wonderful nurturing spot . Joan teaches really well and zazen ( sitting meditation ) is going on six days a week along with a whole eclectic program of events
