cheap fast GOOD I've eaten at Jim 'n Nicks, Dreamland and Johnny Ray's in Birmingham. I'd have to say that Jim 'n Nicks rates #1 of the three. Everything is made fresh at the restaurant, and the sauces were great. Nice and spicy when you need some "kick". The waitress was awesome and the prices weren't too bad at all. A DEFINITE "must go" in Birmingham.
More to this neighborhood Tex-Mex than meets the eye! Zapata has very good fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, etc. My kids love their queso dip. But what is surprising is how good their more unusual dishes (for a Mexican place) like their chicken soup is. Try it... you'll thank me!

The fact that my son took the lid off his cup to eat some ice at the end of our meal and found a DROWNED COCKROACH is the reason that I do not recommend this place. Adding insult to injury, after showing said drowned cockroach to the manager, he offered to not charge us FOR THE DRINK!!!! I think he knocked about $5 off of our bill when I complained. They should have paid ME for this nasty, disgusting experience!! God only knows what we ingested without knowing 🤢🤮🤢🤮

Fast service and great food!
I used to live in Helena and ate there regularly. I have been gone from Birmingham for eight years but eat there every time I am back, including today. I always take a 16 oz to-go order of their award winning, Best of Birmingham salsa. food excellent, service excellent, staff excellent.
