I just made a follow up appt from a previous one. Why do I always have to wait 3 months to get in?

I’d never been to a dermatologist before. Saw the PA for a spot that had changed. She said it was nothing of concern but she could “freeze it off only takes a few minutes.” She gave me a quick explanation and got my consent but mentioned NOTHING that it might not be covered by insurance at all. I paid my copay and thought all was well. I got a bill 6 months later for over $200. Of course before I got that bill I went back to get a different spot checked. In early February 2016 I developed a skin condition that went undiagnosed for over a year. I was on such high doses of antihistamines that it increased my HgbA1C from 5.6 to 8.1. It had taken me 3.5 years to get my diabetes under control. I now see another physician who diagnosed me within 5 minutes, has me on the correct meds, & the goal is to be off all meds within 2-3 months. Plus I am now back on a small does of insulin to hopefully regain control of my diabetes.
