I was hopeful about my appt with Dr Stender as a new patient. I arrived and he immediately was condescending regarding my X-rays - saying my knees weren’t that bad ! I’ve had injections for 14 years and have no quality of life- he didn’t care about that and wouldn’t listen to me at all ! Then , he had the audacity to say “You need to get new insurance because your knee injections won’t be covered “ I replied “They were covered the last two years” He only spent 5 minutes with me and didn’t seem to care about my concerns and w... read more
He yelled at me for coming in for pain in my legs because I'm young. If we pay money to see him, he should act more understanding and caring. He acts like he is doing the patient a favor and that we're wasting time. He doesn't care about patients. Would not recommend. Save your time and money.
Dr. Stender repaired meniscus tears in both of my knees. Took me from hobbling to back to 100%. Great care and a confident approach.
Agree with the arrogant review. Very dismissive. Acted like I was making up the issues with my shoulder. Sent to physical therapy when I told him I had it numerous times over the years and it didn't help... Dr at UH looked at the same MRIs Stender took and immediately noticed the tear in my labrum. I would NOT recommend Stender! My surgery could have been done over a year and I wouldn't have wasted so much time and money. Thankfully, UH had me scheduled for surgery within 2 weeks of my first appointment.
Dr. Stender is the most arrogant, condescending, demeaning physician I've ever met in my life. As a physician myself I am embarrassed that he calls himself a healer. Bedside manner of a mongoose. I wouldn't let him operate on my dog.
Dr. Stender is kind and patient. Very professional and extremely knowledgable. He is senior citizen friendly. I feel confident with his clinical judgement and trust his care.

I have seen Dr Stender for a number of issues over the years. He is really good at listening and providing me with a complete treatment plan. His office staff is courteous and - even though his office is busy - I never have to wait like I do at other Dr's offices. I highly recommend him.
He really cares about his patients.
