How stupid I called YWCA shelter to get help with some clothes and hygiene stuff for my kids they told me they can't help me cause I'm not in shelter dang uppity should be glad I'm not there remind you I can't go home really im scared for my safety
So thankful for this place! I left an abuser 3.5 years ago and I traveled 24 hours straight to this place for safety. My kids and I were welcomed with opened arms by this YWCA! I had lived a middle upper class life that I left and strangers were shocked that I was at a shelter just by my appearance. Abuse can happens to anyone, rich or poor! Such an amazing organization with some of the greatest staff you will ever come by. The YWCA does so much for the community and those in crisis situations!
