I have seen Dr. Youman for approx 8 years. What sets her apart from other drs in her field, in my experience, is that she truly listens. She genuinely cares about ME as a person, not just a patient. My progress matters to her. She is easy to talk to, asks pertinent questions, and never rushes. If I could give her ten stars, I definitely would.

Dr Youman is the type of physician who grows on you. She is gentle but firm, competent, and thinks before she prescribes; its almost like I can see her mind thinking about what is best for me. She is up-to-date, personable and has a subtle sense of humor. I trust her.

When I was admitted to Laureate Eating Disorders Program last year, I had my mind made up on leaving against medical advice as soon as possible. Dr. Youman SOMEHOW convinced me to stay. I ended up not only completing treatment, but also going to Magnolia house. I am so grateful she didn't give up on me. She usually runs a little bit late, but it is a very small price to pay--she doesn't rush through appointments, she listens closely and takes me seriously. Her office staff is amazing, too.
