great food,i definitly will go back! – this is the best sushi i ever had,the service is good,and it's not expansive for students.i like it,next time i will take my friends there!
I've been ordering from Yami though campusfood for a year or two--the sushi's always been tasty, with generous portions, and arrived promptly at an appropriate temperature. This is everything I want. I finally went to Yami for the first time a few weeks ago. Mistake. The ambiance is terrible, the service is aggressively rude, and...seriously, if you want good service at a sushi place in Decatur, shell out for Sushi Avenue. If you want lots of good, inexpensive sushi, ordering from Yami is worthwhile.
Okay sushi Very good prices but the sushi is only so-so. The restaurant is also pretty small. The service is excellent and it is located close to Emory University.
Ok sushi My husband and I dined here once. The sushi was okay but not the best in the city. They do offer special pricing during certain times of the day. They are close to our house.
Change in staff has made the service worse. – First of all, the food is good and the portions are generous. The restaurant is also clean and a nice place to sit down. However, the service has gone downhill a great deal. They used to have a friendly young man and young lady who would take your orders over the phone, or show you to your table. No longer support them - Rude & Disrespectful! – SHORT VERSION: Good sushi, terrible service. Rude, deceitful and possibly discriminating. I have been disrespected by them several times. LONG VERSION: I was thrilled to find a place that delivered sushi at such late hours within such a close proximity. Terrible service – A friend bought me a gift certificate to this restaurant a couple of years ago. When I moved, the gift certificates were misplaced, so when I found them recently, I was pleased to find that there was no expiration date. I went to the restaurant (the food was decent), and when I submitted the gift certificate, was forced to wait at my table for 15 minutes while the server called the owner, and he drove to the restaurant. Great service, great food – I went with my friend to Yami Sushi for the first time on a Thursday night, and the atmosphere was very low-key and relaxed. The service is great - friendly and quick. The portions are pretty big. My friend and I shared a Dragon Roll and a Crispy and Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Dragon Roll was okay, but the Crispy and Spicy Tuna was really amazing - one of the best sushi I've tried (and I love sushi and eat it quite a bit). Absoutely unbelievable portions, quality average – I have never in my life seen a sushi restaurant anywhere in the country that can provide portions like Yami Sushi's at a very, very reasonable price. For example, the Sashimi Appetizer could honestly be an entire meal, as the pieces of fish are twice or three times as large as anywhere else in Atlanta.
