Fantastic! By first appearances, Yamado is just another asian hole in the wall. Once you try it, you'll taste that it is truly a special place. While you might enjoy the Bento box or the Canyon roll your first time in, most people's first experience at Yamado is the $1 sushi on Tuesday evening or Saturday lunch. You have to pay cash to get the special deals (posted in several places including a sign outside), but that is a minor inconvenience. We will never go back. First of all, We were following the review and yes they had a good deal for Sushi. But it was a horrible experience. The food was not fresh at all. We ordered salmon, tuna, shrimp, and eel. Our salmon was so dry it was falling apart. The Unagi was warmed in the microwave and did not even taste like eel. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! WOULD NEVER GO BACK!!!! I like to try different Sushi places, and this one is by far the worst I've come across! The sushi was mediocre/bad. Yellow tail was not fresh at all. The service was DEPLORABLE. They messed up and overcharged me $40!!! When I complaned, the owner was very very rude about it. He corrected the mistake with a terrible attitude complete with smacking his lips and grunting, and when I left about a 12% tip (which was generous considering the terrible service), he made a big deal about it... read more

One of Naperville's Best I really enjoy dining at Yamado and because it's near my house, I visit frequently. Their sushi is very fresh but their boxed sets are great as well. The tempura and edamame are nice appetizers and the servers are very helpful. The location is great and the food is just as awesome.
Great Sushi Restaurant in Naperville Great sushi place in Naperville. I go to this restaurant once a week. Great sushi, good service, and good price I like best. Even I have read many mixed reviews on Yamado, but the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I usually go there on a Saturday night with my family, the atmosphere was spectacular. I would strongly recommend giving this place a try. I think Yamado is one of the best Japanese restaurant in this town. Ginger salad was awesome.
Great Sushi away from home.... (pay close attention) We have been going to Yamado for many many years... over 6 yrs. Unfortunately, until about a couple of years ago, it was owned by someone else. Now Mr. Lee and his wife have created a great homey atmosphere and I visit multiple times a week. The most amazing sushi place I love love love Yamado. Particulally, I like their rolls. Everything tastes so fresh and wonderful here. The restaurant is always clean with very mod decor. The service is very friendly. The price is affordable!!! The best sushi in town. I definately recommend this place to everyone.
Do Not Eat Here! We all got food poisoning! Diarrhea! Nausea! Vomitting! That's what my party of 3 are all suffering from within less than hour after eating lunch at Yamado! What we ate - luke warm miso soup luke warm green tea dragon roll - I had to return it because I found an eye lash in between the sliced roll.
