Nice vibe and excellence service, but the hype is all it is. Worst $400 yakitori ever! It’s trying too hard to be fancy when the quality is lacking. Better yakitori in any izakaya in Japan and for 1/10 of the price. Also forget about having a conversation with the party as we have to sit through forced lecture on almost every dish. If you travel, even if just to Japan town in DTLA, and versed in fine dining, then save your money for elsewhere, or buy a plane ticket. A+ service, but the food was just average, especially at this price point. The wine/sake list was limited and lacked reasonable options. Dinner for two plus tip with no wine was $800+...and yakitori is the main event here! I've always enjoyed yakitori in a more casual, bustling, izakaya setting and this was not that. Our experience at Yakun was fantastic. The entire team took exceptional care of my family and made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was warm and friendly, the food was exquisite and beautifully prepared, and the cocktails were outstanding.
