Yakun tries to create a home-style dining experience with its dim lighting and sofa chairs but fell short. Because sofa chairs were too low for the counter, sacrificing the comfort of diners for 2-3 hours. And the lengthy speech by the host at the beginning of the meal, where he encouraged diners to “engage with all 5 senses”, made the meal feel like a rehearsed performance, contradicting the home-style dining experience. We had an incredible fine dining experience at Yakun. The food was unique and incredible and the service was outstanding. The ambiance and decor was also luxurious and elegant. Overall an incredible experience!

Entering Yakun is possible only after you have breached the thick velvet curtains and escaped from the bustling Sawtelle street.
