I am a renter and my Landlord has Xcel HomeSmart repair service for appliances. When called about my refrigerator not cooling properly they said the best they could do is have someone there in seven days. Lost all the food in my refrigerator and freezer, over $300 of food. Read the terms and condition of the plan and Xcel does not stat how long they will come out to fix it. If they don't have the staff time come out in timely manner should offer the option getting fixed on my own and send them the bill

I am having xcel home smart for about 8 years.Couple weeks ago I called for my fridge(control panel didn't work). Technician from Builder appliance repair came,spent couple minutes looking in fridge(didn't even try to see what is problem).Told me,and same I was told from Xcel,they do not fix ice dispenser,water dispenser,control panel,compressor.Question is what they fix if anything.Disapointed I asked Xcel to take off fridge from my repair plan, because I see it useless.

We have had homesmart for many, many years. Over the last few years, the service has become unreliable and unresponsive so we decided to cancel. Sadly we do see anything in the terms or on their website about to do so. The renewal letter they sent is just as worthless on this point. So we started calling and calling and calling. Each call resulted in wait times of at least 45 minutes without a human being answering. Rather than spend my entire day waiting, I hang up and try again a bit later. I've had nothing but problems with excels homesmart service, they are nothing like Centerpoint Energy!! The customer ********************** people are rude the companies they contract to go to people's homes are rude, treat you like you are lower then them,I have been trying to get someone to my house for my dryer since August 17th!!!They keep coming up with different excuses, I tried again on the 26th of Nov. I tried to file a Complaint on line regarding Xcel Energy. This was the Public Utilities Commission. I went back several years since 2012 showing that my November Billing for Electricity went from small amounts to not as much as this amount. $33.00 to $115.00. in one month's time. Xcel claims that if you allow them access to your Checking Account that the amounts of the Bill can be reduced. I have no intention of doing that. They took my money but didn't provide the service. I've been a Homesmart customer going on a decade and have had solid experiences with them until recently (and every technician they've ever sent out has been exceptional). I've been paying for plumbing service since March and needed it last week. I put in a service request which went ignored. Followed up a couple days later and rather than a reply, got the PDF doc of every one of their covered services (washer, dryer, etc., all the fine print on everything) sent to me. Follo... read more

First off, this is not as serious as some may think but it’s more about the helpless feeling I had as they did as they wished and heartlessly charged me talking down to me when I objected. I have always paid my electric bill. While moving into a new apartment I switched my service between two residences which meant there were changes in my amount normally paid. It has now been over 5 weeks since I first called HomeSmart to repair my washer. It has been a long series of unreturned phone calls, (writing down the wrong #) . not showing up for appointments, (messages they say they sent but were not received by me) blaming everything on COVID (Keeps someone from returning phone calls?!) Waiting for a part was to take 3-4 days, it took two weeks. I now have another appointment for tomorrow ....We shall see what happens. For this kind of service, I pay over $50 per month!!!

Terrible. Don’t respond to their contact us forms, don’t answer their phones. Cannot cancel coverage and have tried numerous times to contact them.
