Ever since covid started its been rough on everyone. People losing family members or having to put all there funds into taking care of someone that is ill. The access to my account on the Xcel's website is a nightmare. I am still trying to log in. I have to take an emergency international trip and I need to set automated payments because I do not know for how long I will be gone. Apparently, the "white screen" problem is so prevalent that the company has it listed under a "dial" number on their call menu, where they also list a few things to do before calling them. Ive been proactively trying to pay my electric bill, residential area of ***********, **. Last payment I made was on 09-06-2023. I havent received a bill in my mailbox ever since. I received one with incorrect individuals name with my exact address. Due to federal and state laws in place, I am unable to open the mail because the person its titled to is not me, even though its sent to my address. I discontinued service on September 13, 2023 on our home we sold. Since then we have been waiting to receive our credit amount. Each time I call the representatives give me a different response. Some say check is in the mail, others say it's 30 day wait or after the 30 day wait add another 10 days. It has been over 30 days and now into the another 10 days. I tried to file a Complaint on line regarding Xcel Energy. This was the Public Utilities Commission. I went back several years since 2012 showing that my November Billing for Electricity went from small amounts to not as much as this amount. $33.00 to $115.00. in one month's time. Xcel claims that if you allow them access to your Checking Account that the amounts of the Bill can be reduced. I have no intention of doing that. First off, this is not as serious as some may think but it’s more about the helpless feeling I had as they did as they wished and heartlessly charged me talking down to me when I objected. I have always paid my electric bill. While moving into a new apartment I switched my service between two residences which meant there were changes in my amount normally paid. I called the 811 dig hot line because we are starting a project landscaping in our home in eau claire. The lady we got was extremely rude what the start. She talked a millon miles an hour so I could not understand so I would ask again then her tone would turn to sound annoyed.
