I had decay under a 30 year old crown and MY HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED. He removed the old crown and cleaned the decay, then prepped for the new crown, scanned my tooth with his computer program, took an impression on the top of the tooth, somehow merged the scan and impression and had the computer mill a perfect crown. He then fitted the crown on my tooth to make final adjustments while the crown was in a semi-soft state, then heated the crown for 30 minutes to harden then seated the crown permanently.
