We have been with Woodforest since 2009 and never had really any issues with them until the last couple of weeks. they decided 2 weeks ago to take the overdraft off of our account. They said they sent a letter, however, we never received a letter. Then today, I have a charge of $394.94 that was taken out of our account.. They said it was because of a closed account that my husband and I had. We had a closed account because of fraudulent activity, but we didn't leave a balance. I have banked with Woodforest for about 4 years and have never had an issue UNTIL NOW! I was notified via email that there was a fraudulent charge on my account, from Paris France, so they closed my card. Ok thats to be expected, no issues there. They said they would send me a new card and then a PIN about 3 days later. So about a wk or so passes, I get the card but never received my PIN number. So I called, they canceled the new card and were to send me a new one. I got the PIN but not the card. I called again, same thing, ... read more

I have repeatedly had my account debited $10 for a return mail fee even though I have verified my correct address with a bank representative in person and made certain it was correct in my records. The debits continued! In frustration I sent an email explaining the situation to the email address provided by customer service. The debits continued. I have been on the phone with three different customer service representatives! This is ridiculous and totally inept for a bank to conduct business like this.

ID GIVE ZERO STARS. SPENT TIME TRYING TO CASH 2 SIMPLE WESTERN UNION MONEY ORDERS THAT TURNED INTO A FIASCO THAT I DONT THINK A. THEY ASKED RIGHT QUESTIONS WHEN THEY CALLED WESTERN UNION. Filed a dispute over 3 fraudulent charges to my account from eBay. Bank refunded money but 2 months later (today) charged my account back for the money. Said the dispute department received confirmation from eBay that the charges were made by me and were legit. I called eBay and they have the charges marked as fraud and have no record of ever talking to anyone by email, phone, fax, or postal mail about my account and those charges...

I reported and closed my card. My vacation money was stolen by one of my students adding my card to his cash app. They waited until the 11 th day and then wrote me a letter about their decision which looked hand written abd several misspelled words and very rude. When i got the account the clerk watched me put my pin number in. Every week there were new tellers. The whole branch on Hudson and titus in rochester new york are theives they were all replaced for stealing about 6 employees. I want my 7000 dollars back me and my 3... read more

My recommendation is that nobody attempting to find a bank to open a new account at would use this Bank for its business. They intentionally close my debit card without my authorization without my approval and without my knowledge, causing me to not be able to make rent payments, and causing me to not be able to pay my utility bills that are all paid online in my area. Been a customer for about 10 years. I do not have overdraft protection but they seems to let payments come out. They use to be great but not anymore.
