I’m about 30 weeks pregnant. Now they are telling me I have $400 balance for very first appointment when I had Medicaid and was not part of a specific group with Medicaid. So they had me sitting there trying to get me to pay or in payments. I’m sorry the whole point of having Medicaid is not having to pay . They just seemed to keep trying to explain I’m responsible for something that makes no sense. I guess I’ll just give birth anywhere 🙄
They force you to listen to Christian pop/country in the patient rooms, decorate their ultrasound rooms for expectant mothers (can you imagine getting bad news in a room decorated this way?), and try to extract copays from you for well-woman (no-copay) visits. I’m not going back.
Dr Akonye is the best OB ever! She’s been my OB since I was 17 and delivered my two kids... I highly recommend her. She’s sweet nice awesome and more.. when I’m ready for my 3rd child she’ll be my OB as well.
Dr. Akonye is the best she’s been my ob for over 10yrs, She is a very sweet, awesome, smart and knowledgeable doctor. Always an open ear about anything. She delivered my soon to be 9 yr old son and i have another son due next month that she will also deliver. Highly recommended 😉
Dr Akonye is the best! I truly mean that. She is fun, kind, understanding, non judgmental, open book (ask her anything), experienced, well thought of, etc. (the list could go on). I had the best experience with her throughout my pregnancy and through the delivery of my first. It felt as though I was going to see a friend at every appointment which made me more at ease with the process. Having her deliver my baby was the best experience and I’m so thankful she is my doctor!
This Doctors office is amazing!! Dr. Akonye is such a wonderful woman and caring Doctor. Highly recommend!
I’ve used the same OB with all of my pregnancies. In my 2nd trimester she informed me she would be switching practices from her previous place to Women’s Center. I was nervous at first, but have since fallen in LOVE with this practice. They’re much more organized than her previous place, I am seen within 30 minutes rather than hours. The staff is always sweet and smiling too. They make me want to have more babies! lol
