I went to UPMC Western Maryland last week after having a stroke. I was in the hospital for two and a half days.Everyone I came in contact with was outstanding.. Friendly, professional staff all the way across the board. I could not be more pleased with the care I received.

I fell at home breaking my shoulder and wrist each in two places. I needed to be transported to UPMC Western Md by ambulance. I had to have X-rays, CT scan, anesthesia IV for wrist reduction, IV started for pain meds, wrist reduced and put in a brace, and my shoulder put into a sling. From the transporters, imaging department technicians, Jason Layman the CRNP in charge of my care, nurses, and anesthesiologist, I could not have had a more professional and compassionate experience. Worse hospital, abusing data sharing rights to obstruct through cryptic harassment implicating your constitutional rights are violated for the extended abuse of my privacy rights when I have only asked for treatment for pain on my left side!
I was inpatient there for 4 days for a major surgery. The nurses were fantastic, the facility clean and well maintained and everyone I interacted with was kind, courteous and professional. The food was surprisingly good for a hospital and was easily on par with many good restaurants I have eaten at. Parking can be a bit dificult if you are looking for a close in spot but unlike many urban hospitals the parking is FREE.
