Wintrust has some of the WORST customer service representatives I have ever had to deal with. THey are very rude and disrespectful. We are in the process of selling our home and had some questions for Wintrust and every single time we call, either we never get a response and the responses that we do get are different EVERY TIME, like nobody is on the same page over there and they put all the blame on us homeowners. I will never do business with this company again and will definitely not recommend it to anyone.

They dont even bother to send an invoice until twenty days before the due date, so be sure to go with e-invoices because otherwise theres just not enough time to receive the invoice and then send it back out. BUT, even that *** not matter. Last month, for the second time, with I got my invoice on the 16th, I sent it right out by check that day (because they charge $15 for ACH). Its due on the 5th. I have been with ************* for over 20 years.After it joined Wintrust, it started deteriorating. Bank tellers are changed very frequently. Personal bankers come and go often. The receptionist lady that use to also answer the phone was let go and now calls are routed to an offsite center where respondents falsely introduce themselves as *************. Started off good when I got talked into switching to ************** (Wintrust is the real name of the mortgage company) on a good lower rate refi deal and promises that I could sell some of the land to do an addition to my house. I even spent over $9000 on surveys, maps and prep work on the land after the refi. We listed the property, got an offer, and then a couple of week before closing we were notified about the title issue. Already left them 0 before, but today another 0, so they collected 00 from me. After few years finally I was able to start use e-business banking, but today find out that can't do mobile deposits, for all other banks this is a standard service, for *************** is not, they will charge me $0.25 per check deposit but still must call bank to add this future to my e-banking. Terrible, terrible banking, ********** service."
I would avoid this company. First and foremost they sold my personal information so now I get texts and phone calls from spam. Secondly, I initially signed up with auto payments for my refinance but the first notice I got was I had a late payment with a fee. So I payed the payment and re setup auto payments with the Wintrust person on the phone so it wouldn't happen again. the next month it happened again and again with a fee. Earlier today 2/24/2021 I called the branch (2825 Foxfield Rd ) asking if they could connect me to banker to start home equity line of credit, I was put on hold and after waiting for 8 minutes Agent pick up and said that they only do 1st mortgage, where she connect me back to the branch. Worst Experience ever applying for a mortgage loan I already had 1 pre-approval from a Credit Union who took EXACTLY 1-2 business days for a answer as promised. I've been playing phone tag and email tag with Phil S. from Wintrust Bank just to compare for at least a week now turned in all requested documents credit score in the 700 range I am really starting to think it's obviously my Skin Color I tried to get another loan officer but that didn't work, customer service basically let him know I called and BOOM all of a sudden ... read more
