I have been skiing at Wintergreen for nearly 30 years. While it's not quite like the resorts in Utah and Vermont where I also ski, I am thankful to have a resort like this -- with such an advanced snowmaking system -- within a 2-hour drive of our home in Virginia. If you're serious about skiing, don't go on a weekend -- that's for people who don't know any better and think skiing is just Disney/Busch Gardens with snow. What they offer for the cost of a lift ticket is really a complete joke in my opinion! They have all the fancy snow making equipment and cold weather all week, yet they put down the bare minimum to keep the $$$ coming in, only a few patches of snow barely to get by each other. Earlier this year we visited during one of the busiest weekends of the season and got a bad impression of the resort, so we went back this weekend for a re-do. This time we were there during one of the least busy weekends and what a difference! Everyone we encountered was super helpful and polite from Gabriel in the ski office, to David at the Mountain Inn coffee kiosk and Sarah the bartender at The Edge. Hey Guys, I have been skiing Wintergreen for almost 40 years. Although you do have a great snowmaking system. There is a hole in your system. Understanding that at times all you can run is the fan guns, Why do you not have fan guns on wheels? This would allow you to put the snow where you need it. Its very obvious. But I do love you guys. Please invest in mobile fan guns. It will pay off.
Pretty disappointing season. What’s even more disappointing is the season pass. Many families can only ski on Sunday afternoons using the pass and Wintergreen shuts them out on MLK Sunday and Presidents’ Day Sunday. Why is that?
