We’ve been using Winter Park Vet for close to 20 years. At the beginning for our yellow lab Molly (lived to be 15.5 years) and now for our yellow lab puppy, Bo Bo. A special shout out to Dr. Andy Newman who always makes you feel as though you are the only pet parent in the room, and also Billy Hess, who not only loves animals, but also has a special passion for helping/mentoring disadvantaged youth in our community: Billy has been a stalwart supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs, Eatonville for years. Bravo!
This facility was completely booked up when I called last minute to get my pup seen. I probably sounded like a crazy person to the lady I initially spoke to because I was so flustered- after calling around all morning there seemed to be no available hospital that could see him. Upon telling her his symptoms she asked how far I lived when I told her 10 minutes away she informed me they could probably take him between the next appointment. Well I got stuck in traffic, made a wrong turn, missed the building completely: I did no... read more
prepare to be blackmailed and mistreated in this time of covid. your animals are not safe in their care, the doctors are never available and the office staff thinks that they can cite vague "legal requirements" for putting your pet's and your life at risk in order to boost their revenues. beware and take care of your pet anywhere but here.

Dear Mr. Alvarez, My name is Billy Hess and I am the hospital manager at Winter Park Veterinary Hospital. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond for our clients and patients, doing everything we can to meet their needs. In these stressful times, this is even more important as we know how vital pets are to the happiness and well-being of their pet parents. We saw your kitty as an emergency in June of 2019. You then requested a prescription diet this month. The Veterinary Practices Act of Florida requires a patient to ha... read more
BUNNY OWNERS PLEASE READ: My regular vet doesn't do exotics, & we just adopted a bunny so I found myself here. They would not provide an estimate by phone, they told me I had to come in for a consultation & exam before scheduling a neuter. We waited 45 minutes for someone to come out. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from the vet, who asked me "Why I wanted to neuter him?" (This is a common practice for house bunnies & is in fact, recommended, & even stranger was they handed me a folder with basic rabbit info & a hand ou... read more
Worst vet I’ve ever been to. Not for the animal whatsoever. Instead of admitting they don’t know what to do or how to help my animal, they just put this insane dram story that he will unlikely get better from a normal fracture and that it’ll cost a few grand to fix a broken leg in a parrot. I had tried to reach other actual avian vets but they weren’t open. I thought my lucky chance was with WP vet but it wasn’t. I should’ve waited another day instead of going to WP vet. You should only go here if: -you want a vet that doesn... read more
Dr Andy & the staff are awesome! I love how much care & attention they gave my boy Spanky while he was still with us
I had called 12 different avian vets and found only this 1 with an immediate opening. I drove over 100 miles 1 way to get my baby rose breasted cockatoo there and left being told it could be a respiratory or pneumonia or something genetic... I begged for them to do sub q fluids and iv antibiotics because he was vomiting. They refused. I was stuck in my car (covid 19) and couldn't go in and face the vet. I had to leave and head home not even knowing what to do..I was up all ni...Continue Reading

We are so sorry for your loss. From your conversations with our doctor and medical operations manager it sadly appears you purchased a very sick baby bird from a breeder that, according you, had a history of issues and sick babies. Dr Delaney is excellent in avian care and is up to date on the latest in avian research and care. She advised the diagnostic tests - bloodwork and radiographs - that would start to show us a picture of what is going on. It is her duty to advise that any stressful procedures radiographs or drawing ... read more
I always experience incredible service when I bring my dog here. The vet techs are extremely knowledgeable and receptive to my questions or concerns, and show a genuine interest in caring for my dog rather than him being another patient to get in and out as quickly as possible. Dr. Delaney always has an informed answer to any question I have, keeps me up to date with the latest studies and health findings that could affect my dog’s health, and always calls after my visits to make sure he is doing okay. Will continue to alway... read more
