I've known Dr. Jay since I was 12yrs old and if it wasn't for him I wouldn't of been here today. He is really genuine, upfront/honest and truly a compassionate person. He understands your feelings, actually listens to your problems ( does not constantly give you meds for every little thing or over prescribe you). What I always admired about him is how he really wants you to overcome your struggles and help you find ways to improve them. This guy is shady. He is known for overprescribing addictive meds, so much so that Walgreens refuses to fill his prescriptions. He got around this by having his own pharmacy in his practice. What other psychiatrist has their own pharmacy?! Super shady. I speak from personal experience - someone I love dearly is hooked on benzos thanks to this guy. They care it's a clean & organize place
Sr Winston was always late, often cancelled appointments after I'd been waiting a long time. On one occasion he spent the entire visit telling me about his having diagnosed Brett Favre with ADHD, on another occasion he wasted most of my visit talking Packers with the pharmaceutical rep. When I presented with a crisis he was slow to respond, finally asking me what medications I thought I should be taking rather than formulating a proper treatment plan.
