Would not recommend staying in the rooms. 2 of our rooms had several ants all around the bathroom, on the floors walking around the bed and in the bed. Noticed the front staff and we thought we would have had a full or partial refund offered. I do highly recommend the Moonshine bar. Our bartender was absolutely amazing and got the job done.
I was curious about the low star reviews when I booked this hotel for an anime convention my child wanted to go to. We go to conventions fairly regularly and have stayed in many hotels. We’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ones who are aesthetically lower-end but have a dedicated staff who are busting their butts to improve them. This hotel is the latter. First of all let me just say that this place has been neglected and certain things need attention for sure. But look closer and you will see a team of employees giving their best to make it happen. I have been coming to this hotel for years. I’ve never seen the efforts like what is happening now. The General Manager, Diane, like the Pied Piper has unified and mainstreamed her workforce to see to every immediate need of the guest and every issue that may arise concerning maintenance. The hotel needs a little work. But Diana Day the manager is getting it done. You can see the process of renovation. She is determined. Excellent manager. Michelle the weekly night clerk goes above and beyond. What a wonderful woman, kind hearted great personality. She is a blessing for this company to have. I don't no the names of all the staff but everyone did a wonderful job. Give all these people a raise. Also pump some more money into this place, Diana will make it happen.
