Before we got to this hotel, I was very excited to stay here. The pictures online of the lake view and gardens were beautiful and I felt so lucky to have a found a place right on the lake last minute. Unfortunately, that is about all this place had to offer. I don't usually write bad reviews but I feel that this place was very underwhelming compared to how it's represented online. Reasonably priced and fabulous cabins! Was a great anniversary surprise for my husband. I hope we can visit again one day! I recommend to anyone wanting a great cabin up north experience.
The view of Lake Superior is assume. The flowers and plants give it a home atmosphere. Just a quiet, lovely, peaceful place to stay. I love this pkace
This space is amazing. We stayed here for 3 nights. This is a small operation and I was afraid I was going to have to go to the office to replenish our morning supplies. Such as coffee, creamer, and so on for the next morning. That wasn't the case. After each days adventures we came back to the room and found it all cleaned and our coffee supplies replenished.The property was just absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Winfield Inn for everything you do.

Always have loved my experience there with every stay!
Room 107 at the Rieten Boat Yard was nasty, the carpet was stained, the bed was like sleeping on rocks, the silverware was dirty and the over all appearance was shabby, all this at $200 a night was inexcusable. You need to do some upkeep on the rooms you rent out or don't rent them. It was like sleeping in a homeless shelter and paying thru the nose for it. We have previously stayed in this room, and had the same issues, and no updates or changes have been made, in spite of comments left before.
