2 hour wait while the ED was empty. Insane and Unprofessional. I left they texted 2 hours later.

My son went to urgent care yesterday and was told to go straight to Wills Eye ER. Worst mistake. Waited an hour before we were taken in back. They asked questions, did a fast eye exam, talk to a virtual person, who said to go ahead and get dilated. Was told good for 4 hours and to go to waiting room. After 5 hours of being there ( dialation wore off), went to receptionist and was told, he would be there at least 5 more hours. We left. According to reviews on this site, this is the normal. Disgraceful. Will never go back.
Wish I would have read the reviews before I came here. I had no one to watch my mom who has dementia. They took over 8 hours. They dilated my eyes and I felt like they scratched my eye and made them worse than when I came in. I had to leave because my mom was tired, hungry and she was very irritated. Parking was $45 and there vending machine for water and soda was not working. They need more doctors. The nurse man said my case was not assigned yet. Worse ER experience I’ve ever had. Tried to take my son there last night the receptionist/ security they were polite, but when I went to intake nooo… tried to give my information and the woman said very nasty “give me a minute” as if she was irritated, No greeting no nothing I was the one who actually did the greeting. That interaction in itself was enough for me to turn around and leave as I turned around, She said Ma’am-you have to give me a minute. I walked out with my son….
