After spending over half an hour talking to someone who identified themselves as a nurse, I was transferred to my cardiologists office to pick up my search. The search had been for a referral to a correct neurologist for my husband who is experiencing neurological symptoms and needs to be evaluated. My cardiologist’s office quickly realized that I should not have been transferred there, and she is now trying to help me by hunting down who I can actually talk to. RecommendedMy father is from Cuba, NY. Last Wednesday when he suddenly lost feeling in his legs and his local hospital decided to transfer him to a hospital that had a neurologist, UPMC Hamot was the only hospital that had room for him. All the hospitals in Rochester, Buffalo, basically all Western NY were full. We worried about having him treated so far away but we truly feel blessed.
