Dr. Mook, is straightforward and very pleasant. He’s extremely knowledgeable regarding my shoulder injury. He was also respectful regarding expenses after I told him that I have a $7000 deductible as a self-employed individual (which is very annoying - thank you Obama). So he did a procedure and said but let’s see how that works before we go to the next step.
From my first meeting with Dr Mook, when I was in great pain due to a fractured shoulder, he impressed me and my husband. He explained in detail the results of the xrays and CT scan, and presented options to deal with the injury. I opted for surgery as it would best help me restore full range of motion. Dr. Mook provides exceptional care and he is distinctly accomplished in the field of orthopedics. Yet, he has a down to earth empathic and positive encouraging vibe. He was the surgeon I met in ER after my injury and his magnetic smile and positive energy diffused the horrific pain I was in at that moment. My visit was very pleasant. The staff ensured all my questions were answered and was accommodating and understanding while I ensured my insurance authorizations were ok for treatment. Dr. Mook was knowledgeable and detailed in his examination and explanation of diagnosis as well as treatment recommendations. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Mook and OrthoVirginia to friends and family.
