This psychiatrist is not experienced nor well educated in major psychiatric illnesses nor medications. He 'tries' newer psychiatric medications on his patients without considering the proper indications for use. If you have a disorder that benefits from talk therapy, he may be somewhat capable BUT if your illness requires medication, be very careful! You are assured to get worse. This office is not client friendly also! There are many other better psychiatrists in Central Florida!
Have been a patient since 2013, he is a Pull Pusher, now since he is no longer my doctor, and have gotten off an outrageous amount of pills, feel much better. Getting off the medications took 2 years, horrible sweats, panic attacks, feeling like I was going crazy. Now doing much better. Beware
This physician lacks the ability to manage those with bipolar disorder. He does not recognize signs of mania and left me untreated for weeks while my livelihood, marriage, and life were at stake. He cited 'legal concerns' for reasons he wouldn't decrease or increase or change medications. I only ever had virtual appointments with him and it was extremely difficult to see him in person when in crisis. Dr. Jeter specializes in talking therapy, but not medication management.. If you have a serious mental health condition that requires psychiatric medications, run away from this man as fast as you can. He will happily put you on medications yet if you experience severe side effects or drug interactions, he will claim he can't decrease or stop the medications as it could be 'too dangerous '. He allows virtual appointments without even an initial in-person visit. He renews prescriptions without evaluating the patient properly.... read more
Best psychiatrist in Central Florida without exception. I've been through MANY psychiatrists over the years and they usually just throw medication at you. Jeter TALKS to me. He remembers previous conversations. He's absolutely exceptional. He's not afraid to tell me things I don't want to hear just to keep me coming back. I've recommended him to anyone I've ever met that's looking for mental health treatment and I've heard nothing but praise. He also knows his stuff when it comes to medication. This guy knows mental health. I've referred tons of people to him and they all have positive yet unique experiences. Some get medication, others don't. They all get the help they need. I highly recommend this doctor.
Dr. Jeter cured me of a horrible and what I thought was a hopeless addiction to shoplifting....in about an hour.... truly genius if you ask me...I wish I had admitted to him before I got in serious trouble but it's totally behind me now.
Dr. Jeter listens attentively and gives real feedback in a positive way. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Jeter for anyone with simple problems, or complex ones.
I have been seeing Dr Jeter for approximately 10 plus years and he easily one of the BEST doctors around. He listens with empathy, does not put a label on you, works with you to determine the best treatment plan, and is extremely knowledgeable!! Dr Jeter has helped in turning my life around for the better. I cannot imagine a better doctor in this field of practice
