Wild Wind is the best place I have ever boarded my horse!!! His coat is beautiful and dappled already. The hay is of great quality. The horses get excellent care and special care when needed. The ring is huge and always watered and dragged. The outdoor is also huge and has great footing. Pastures are great!!!Trails are lovely!!! I feel compelled to respond to the negative message sent recently on Wild Wind Equine Center. I cannot speak for others, but I can speak for me and my horse.I have boarded at WWEC for nearly four years. My horse receives excellent, hands on care. Pastures are well managed; hay and grain is of an excellent quality, stall is well-bedded and cleaned daily. Wow. I would have thought things would have changed since I boarded here but it sounds like the same old thing. No turnout, the owner gossiping behind everyones back, etc. Horrible place with a rude owner. We were there for about a year and I witnessed too much improper care and handling to list, including chained stall doors. Every negative comment is true. Boarders beware. The amenities are not worth it. Lots of promises will be made to lure you in and if you are not there everyday to monitor your horses care, it wont happ... read more
Although the physical amenities at this barn are very nice(large indoor and outdoor ring,wash stalls,bathrooms,lounge etc,the management is very poor.I have bored at many facilities through the years and this is the only one I would not recommend.I have personally witnessed the owner lie to borders on more than one occasion for a varity of reasons.I also witnessed at least twice, the owner put a large chain and padlock on the stall so no one could enter or exit.Very disturbing if there ever was an emergency such as a fire,co... read more
I board horses at Wild Wind and have for 3 years, so I think I can say that I know this place pretty well. I can't imagine a better place for my horses. They are happy, healthy, extremely well cared for and have never looked better in 15 years! I highly recommend Wild Wind.My horses' diet is customized, as is practically all the horses' at the stable. Most stables feed everyone the same and if you want to add anything, it's an extra cost. Im not quite sure what the issue is here?I have been a frequent visitor at Wild Wind and have never seen issues. Ive seen lots of thin, poorly cared for horses blossom and have nice healthy coats and hooves. Yes, Ill agree. Theyre not turned out as frequently as some barns, but this is something that is well known. If your horse requires 24/7 turnout or a lot of turnout, then perhaps try and find another barn? There is always an excuse at this barn as to why the horses dont go out. Hot, cold, sunny, cloudy, wet and dry - it is ashame that the owner treats her boarders in the manner she does. These are very good boarders who generally respect all the rules just wish to see their horses go outside for the board they pay. It seems this barn owner has lost sight that she is being paid for a service and that her boarders are paying to be there - not to be yelled and screamed at like they are children.
