Specialties Wild Iris is one of Brentwood's best-kept secrets. Established in 1996 as one of the only small, chef-driven casual fine dining spots in the area, they have grown to be a favorite of the Franklin and Forest Hills community. Now, 20 years later, as Nashville diners explore new eateries opening across the city, they are often thrilled to "find" Wild Iris in Brentwood. It is that "off the beaten path" nook of great food, well-chosen wines, crafted cocktails and friendly, knowledgable staff all wrapped in a warm and ... read more

Great first visit – We recently went to eat at The Yellow Porch but didn't have a reservation and they were full, they ask if we would like for them to call Wild Iris and see if they had room. The only room at Wild Iris was at the bar so they saved us two seats. We had been wanting to eat at Wild Iris for sometime but don't get to Brentwood very often but we had a great time! From the first course thru dessert was fantastic!! Will definately be back and will probably sit at the bar, very cozy and a great bartender!
Okay, for Brentwood – If you find yourself in Brentwood and crave something fresh and healthy, this place is pretty good.
Jeckyll & Hyde – I've been several times during lunch—sometimes the restaurant was packed and we sat at the bar, other times it was strangely empty in the middle of the typical lunch. Almost every time (with the exception of the bar experiences)—we've been relatively ignored by our server. Food has come out at different times, or things were forgotten, drinks ignored, etc. Good service should come standard with any restaurant experience—pricey or not. We finally just quit going and began choosing other options in the Brentwo... read more
great for business lunch – We eat lunch at Wild Iris at least once a month for business. The lunch menu is well-priced (around $10) and the food is excellent. We've always had good service. The dinner menu is more expensive. To refer to the other reviews in this thread - it's not Applebee's. You won't enjoy dining at Wild Iris if you prefer large chain restaurants. There are no booths. It's a small independent restaurant. That said, the portions are not tiny. We generally have take-home boxes in our hands when we leave. If y... read more
Very nice! – In town on business and hotel recommended this restaurant last night Wow! Every course was delicious, especially the shark, definately fresh! Server was very helpful in wine selection and pairing with food. Will be back! Thanks
Over-rated, over-priced and over-hyped – Took our son to the Wild Iris at his request for his birthday, I won't be back...birthday or no birthday. Not impressed with the wine list so we did not partake. Food was O-K...thats all, portions were small ("pretty-food") and prices were high. I think people go there so they can say they went, or they go there to be seen because of its "trendy" social status. Not impressed, won't be back
I'm Confused.. – At all the positive ratings this place has received. Nice wine list and local microbrews on tap, but the food and service would get an Applebees manager fired. The only thing I can possibly come up with is that there are few local eateries to compare it to. Took my family there last weekend: The service was poor and inattentive, the appetizers and entrees were either cold and undercooked or dry and overcooked. The manager/owner was rude. Enough said. We won?t be back.
over rated, under served and over charged – The issue and salvation of this place is one in the same. There are only 1 or 2 good restaurants in Brentwood, so Wild Iris has been able to make it because of the lack of competetion. The food is okay nothing to write about, the wine selction is plentiful. The issue is the prices are out of range for where they should be. The sevice is pretty decent, but the menu is not exciting, nor is the food anything you can't create at home. With fuel pricing rising and the economy slowing ho... read more
Dissapointed as well as dissatisfied – I work nearby this establishment and often drive by. I always wanted to visit but, now that I have, I wished I had just kept on "driving by". It's too conjested for starters. My wife and I either felt like we were on display or we were in the way of everyone. Our service was mediocre. The gentleman serving us was a little to interested in "visiting" one of his other tables than taking quality care of us as well. The wine list was commendable, though. It was quite a nice selection.
