Excellent Experience I'm so impressed by this place! I'm new to the Asheville area and stopped in to get my watch battery changed. Not only were they able to change it while I wait, they treated me like I had money to spend in their store. I'm a young professional and I was dressed in gym clothes the morning I stopped at Wick and Greene. They were so nice to me even though I wasn't dressed up or spending a lot of money. Suspicious repair service My husband and I stopped by to browse recently, and a saleswoman offered to clean and inspect a ring I was wearing while we shopped. I've had this done at other stores, but this time it seemed to take much longer, about 20 minutes. She finally returned with the ring but said the jeweler had noticed a loose diamond. It wasn't loose, it completely popped out! I was amazed, because the ring was nearly new and the stones were firmly set. I don't trust them... Untrustworthy! I was in their store shopping with a friend and asked if they could polish my wedding ring. Less than 5 minutes later, a guy came from the back and said that my diamond was loose but they could repair it for $70. In addition, they commented on what a poor job the last jeweler did with resizing my ring! Which just happened to be a jeweler less than a block away. Dishonest - another story Scam. Do you see the two reviews where "loose diamonds" were found during the cleaning of people's rings? They did that to me. They kept me standing and waiting in the shop for over an hour while they tried to replace a simple leather watch strap (they had had the watch for a week to do the work and hadn't) and as I stood and stood and was ignored, one of the staff offered to clean my engagement ring for free. Professional all the way Professional all the way. It is nice to work with someone who is not just working at a jewelry store collecting a paycheck until something better comes along. These are people who truly know the business, have an enthusiasm and passion for what they do. Honest and trustworthy are also words that come to mind.
