Muy Bueno – Yes, the wait is long but that indicates the popularity of the place. The food was excellent and the service better than expected considering the crowd. Everything I have tasted in this restaurant has been delicious - the best Mexican food I have eaten in the Chicago area. The few disgruntled reviewers were probably ill-prepared for the wait and it is reflected in their comments - you can't fault the food or its preparation.
DISGUSTING – The service at this establishment is appalling. The wait is long; the service indifferent; and the manager is downright rude. The food was, at best, edible. I would not recommend this restaurant if my life depended on it.
worth the wait – This restaurant serves some of the best Mexican food I've ever had, and I'm Mexican, so I eat Mexican food almost every day. I agree with the other reviews that the wait is incredibly long, I've waited two hours on two different occasions, and tons more have done the same. We called to get our name on the list to avoid a wait. We got there on time and were told that it would be an additional twnety minutes. After FORTY FIVE minutes, we informed the hostess and two other employees that we were leaving because of this and they simply said, "That's fine." When I told them that that wasn't "Fine," the staff told me that I should expect to wait an indefinate amount of additional time because they were busy. The most authentic mexican food If you were to drive by this place you would not expect authentic and delicious food, but that is exactly what you do get here and a whole lot more. The atmosphere inside is warm and family friendly. Price wise , this is a great deal about $6 to $7 a person, you don't need reservations, and I would definetly recommend to anyone that is in the mood for mexican food.
Awesome Mexican food This independent Mexican restaurant has great food, a cozy atmosphere and extremely reasonable prices. They have a children's menu, and you can BYOB. Phone ahead for reservations, though, because waits can be long.
User review by analuz – I was amused by the food. They have these delicious chipotle mashed potatoes. And the skirt steak was perfect. It was one of the best Mexican restaurant s Ive ever been to. The service was great and my kid enjoyed the fried cinnamon ice cream. Everyone participated on singing Happy Birthday to him. I totally recommend this place with a reservation. There were people in line for 2 hours. hey the best part is BYOB :)
Money not well spent. – After waiting for 5 to 10 minutes to be seated, 5 more to order, the food came. A large portion of mediocre flautas came, too much to eat. Asked for a container to take leftovers and a small salsa condiment to go with it. This they wanted to charge for so after I was denied this I asked for an empty lid and container to empty contents that was brought with meal to which they wanted to charge for.
