I have never had a vet more thorough than Dr Denise Bickel. She spent well over an hour diagnosing my horse's issues. And thank you to Katie for the handling of my horse during the whole process. When a animal is in pain they can react totally outside their normal character. With time and patience and a clear understanding of how to proceed , due to Dr Bickels on the spot detailed paperwork. Thank you for All you do !
Dr. Bickel did an absolutely amazing job stitching my boy up! She was there fast, remained calm, and worked fast and clean. The stitches looked amazing, and now you can hardly see the scar (and it was almost 2 feet long)!
Really can't say enough good things about the Whole Horse team. They are amazing ladies. We've had nothing but the best experiences with them and our horses over the past couple years now. I'm grateful we found them. They are always there for us - emergencies included. They do everything within their power to help, incredibly professional, extremely educated and experienced and they always take the time to explain everything in a detailed fashion. HIGHLY recommend Whole Horse if you love your horse.
Our first horse needed alot of special care. Dr. Bickel and Katie were amazing. They treated Hershey like their only client. Our daughters are USPC members. They study the horse. Dr. Bickel knew this and would spend time answering their questions explaining everything to them with respect. Hershey didn't make it. Dr Bickel stayed with our daughter. She has always been there for our horses even at 1:00 am. That's the kind of vet you want to have take care of your horses.
I don't want to even give 1 star but wont let me rate any lower. These ladies know enough to be dangerous, seems like they know what they're doing bu really they do more harm then good. If you love your horse, dont call this vet. We are not the only ones who hav had horrible experience with whole horse care.
When my beloved horse, Scout came down with a terrible case of Potomac horse fever I was devastated. I called Dr. Bickel and Katie and they came running. Their incredible compassion, kindness and excellent veterinary medicine made a very difficult situation so much better. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Bickel she is there when you need her and that is the peace of mind every horse owner is looking for!
Denise and Katie are the best vets I've had. Extremely patient, reliable and caring and they are always honest about what needs to be done. They don't recommend options that benefit their pockets, only the animals well being. They do ALL the care for my personal horse and I've also watched them geld, deliver, vaccinate, treat, operate and rehabilitate hundreds of horses at Starry Skies over the years.
