Fantastic Food The food is wonderful and so is the atmosphere. The scene as you look out the windows is beautiful. It is very relaxing and a good place for a couple. PROS: A wonderful quiet and romantic place for a couple CONS:
Absolutely beautiful setting. The food was good but not spectacular. We were in the mood for a very serene experience and that is what we got. We were lucky enough to sit by the windows and enjoy the beautiful view.
Totally Unimpressed For years I'd heard so much about The White Oaks that I was expecting something fabulous; I was completely underwhelmed. I think that this restaurant is sustained on their past reputation and the old-timers who still go to it. We went with another another couple and we were both using coupons from The Entertainment Book; as soon as we mentioned this to the waitress her attitude totally changed towards us. Historic Resturant Historic White Oaks opened in 1928. It's name came from the many white oak trees surrounding the restaurant. Great steaks and seafood. Their desserts are to die for. You can sit by one of the six fireplaces or near a window overlooking a lighted ravine with many oak trees. Elegant atmosphere. Great service. Valet parking. Reservations are a must.
Great Ambiance My wife and I try to eat at different restaurants around Cleveland each month. Some are GREAT and some - well - not so great. The White Oaks is a restaurant that has a history and a location that is serene. We LOVED the hearth baked bread (you can actually see them pulling it out of the oven) and had two baskets brought to our table it was so good!
