Great Doctors Both my wife and I have used this practice for over 20 years and seem to use it a lot more frequently now. We started with a doctor who has since retired, changed to Dr. Lyksell, and now use Dr. Kanjo. The change had something to do with insurance. We think highly of both of these doctors and the nurses who work for them. Changes in nursing staff occur occasionally, because they are often Navy wives in a Navy town. They have always been friendly and reflected the kindness, compassion, and professionalism of the... read more

Horrible I would recommend Dr. Kanjo to others however Dr. Lycksell is not who I would want caring for me. He is very abrasive and hurries with everyone. He along with the office staff is very rude. The nurses are great, however it's unfortunate that they have gone through so many! With the office manager and dr. Lycksell being rude and screaming at them I can see why the nurses would not stay long. Overall I would rate dr kanjo and the nurses a five + but the rest of the practice is far from that

Whidbey Medical I had to double check to see if I was reading reviews for the same clinic. Dr. Lycksell has been my physician for over 15 years. As an RN I have also worked with him, which is why I chose him as my PCP. He is knowledgeable and compassionate. He does not rush me, or any of his patients, through my visits nor does he order inappropriate tests. The physicians he has occasionally referred me to have all been excellent and believe me, I am picky. The building is not new, but his office is very clean and orderly. A... read more

L.A. Lots of tests, as one other reviewer said, feel bad for nurses, rest of staff and director poor attitudes, doctors seem okay, need better director. Office staff takes away from medical experience.

A patient I've been under Dr. Kanjo's care. He is one of the kindest and most compassionate MD's on Whidbey Island. His reputation precedes him and is well known at Whidbey General Hospital where he has practiced for more than 20 years. He is respected and admired by both the hospital staff and his peers. He would not hesitate in calling in a specialist if there was indication or something out of his realm. He is also an Internist and one of the few with a superior bedside manner.

Never Again Great nurses, it is unfortunate they work in such a poor environment. The other office staff are rude and should be put under the rule of the nurses. What a pity to have caring women working in this office with incompetent doctors and evil directors. If you care about your health stay far away from this office. I think I went in with low blood pressure and when I left I am sure it was too high!

ann A. I agree with the above rating. I believe at least one of the doctors is pretty good, but yes always lots of tests. Office staff is most definetly rude on a pretty regular basis.

Whidbey Medical Clinic is competent, but not friendly. I don't like the office people. They are rude. The scheduling puts you in a room to wait interminably -- every time. I can't say much about the competence of the doctors, but I think they tend to order more tests to cover themselves against malpractice. This makes them expensive. They also charge more to those with the least ability to pay (the uninsured).
