My grandfather moved in to the facility in 2024, and initially we were happy about the services provided. However, after only 2 months at the facility, we had to move him out due to neglect and inadequate staffing that led to serious health issues for him. During the consultation, the staff promised a certain level of care due to his special needs related to being wheelchair-bound. Visiting my mother-in-law in her beautiful apartment!
We had to make the difficult decision to move our parents from assisted living into a memory care. I looked at several places and ultimately chose Westmont because of how the staff treated a friend who was living in memory care there and because the facilities suited my parents very well. The staff was wonderful with helping get everything set up and with helping my parents make the transition. I know they are safe and are receiving a higher level of care than they were before. Westmont of Carmel Valley is a lovely senior living place on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Its location is perfect to catch the ocean breeze. It has an easy access to I-5. Close to San Diego (and about an hour, give or take the traffic conditions) to Disneyland and its surrounding museums and parks, makes it a great spot if you are considering a very nice place to live.
