My brother lives in this building, and I'm happy to say that since last summer the place has been way cleaner. Some of the common areas used to not be great but now they look really good. This month the walls, stairs, and elevator are very clean. The people cleaning are always very nice too!
I’ve been living here for almost three years now. It’s a great, affordable place to live, and it’s very spacious. The management has been very helpful and responsive.
Update: Tenants in Apartment #72 physically attacked me and continue to escalate and declared they had been talking to Michaelyn about me when they assaulted me. In my experience, slumlords run the Westfal. It has a long history of unresolved habitability problems and systemic mismanagement. I previously prevailed in a court case against management for illegal conduct and retaliation after I asserted my rights. I currently moved into this place probably at the end of November. I think it’s a great affordable place. I’ve haven’t had no problems with roaches or nothing yet. I find it really convenient close to the max lines. The water is really hot, which I always look for in an apartment.
Westfal Review You would be doing the world a favor by not moving into this horrendous apartment complex. This is the worst living experience you could have in Portland. The Westfal has security issues, INSANE pest problems, the worst community management team in Portland, and is not well kept. Michaelyn has pushed not only all of our problems to the side as tenants, but everyone else’s.
