My friends and I were heading to Golden Corral, when we saw Western Sizzlin. I had not been to a Western Sizzlin on years. I remembered their standards and great selection. Therefore, coming across this one in Rocky was a treat, (...or so we thought). The food was subpar compared to previous visits to locations in Virginia. Everything appeared to be either over cooked or burnt. I will not be returning nor would I recommend it.

I ordered two ribeyes and three buffets. I usually don't come to this Western Sizzlin in Rocky Mount, instead I go to the one in Wilson but they were closed. I really had high expectations from them but apparently not. The cashier didn't know what he was doing. After that, we decided to get some food. Food was cold, hard, the chicken and dumplings were spoiled, less variety of foods, flies on the food, the fried chicken was raw and it was pink the middle. For just three buffets it was 50.97. Waitresses not all but majority were quite rude. Several were standing around talking crap about customers at their tables. This place was a much better experience on my first visit though my previous will be my last. The 92 health code rating does not help the cause.

First time eating here since pre-pandemic. Have heard a few people say it was good. We paid $34.12 for two buffets at about 3:45 PM. I started with a cold plate of pasta salad, macaroni salad, a deviled egg and crab salad (fake crab). The macaroni salad was bad, as in spoiled bad. The deviled eggs were bad also. Spoiled. I wonder how many people ended up sick. I told the server about it and she said she told the kitchen to pull them off the buffet. I tried some catfish and shrimp.
