Established in 1940. West Seattle Brake Service was opened by my grandfather, Ellis Thompson, in 1940 and was originally located at 3900 W Alaska in West Seattle. The phone was WE-9617. In 1950 my granddad moved to our current location at 4464 37th Ave SW where we have been since. My dad, Bill Thompson (Red), owned and operated West Seattle Brake Service from 1967 until I became proprietor in 1989. Our family has been bringing our vehicles to John since 1982. My first experience was bringing my car for a second opinion and demanding John show me the rotor issue up on the lift. He didn’t blink an eye. He was courteous, informative, well-priced, and did an excellent job. I grew up surrounded by auto mechanics in Michigan and I appreciate the small shop owner.
I have been going to West Seattle brake for many, many years for my brake work. Prices have always been fair and the quality of work is outstanding. A straight shooter who truly stands behind his work! I highly recommend West Seattle Brake!!
