Staff is unreliable. Second appointment cancelled since being pregnant, and I’m just now only 20 weeks. The ultrasound photos were printed on regular paper; so you can’t save it the way you can the normal ultrasound photographs you usually get. I don’t recommend this OB. This is the 221 Michigan St NE, in Grand Rapids OBGYN. Doctor Phillip’s was more worried about the fact I hurt one of their feelings being upset another appointment was cancelled, than she was at the fact her employees called in sick again. Never again.

Stay away from here. Every level is terrible. Wife was having issues with an IUD (pain, etc.). Went in and got an ultrasound and was told everything was fine. A couple weeks later, she was called again and told that they read it wrong and she had to have it removed! Wow! It was placed incorrectly the first time. Have mislead/employees don't know what they are talking about many times beside this. Unfortunately, you are the one who gets stuck with the bills for their mishaps. Good doctor, but staff is terrible they are always between 20 and 45 minutes late. when I asked if this was normal at this office the nurse was rude to me and asked me if we are always going to have issues(first time I voiced a concern) and I asked her if they are always going to be late ? They have a sign that says if a patient is 10 minutes late they will re schedule, but they can be between 20 and 45 minutes late. Sounds wrong!
Dr. Elderkin is the best doctor! She truly cares about you and your family, takes the time to get to know you and answer any questions you may have. I have been nothing but pleased every appointment!
Dr Elderkin is the best doctor ever. She's been involved in my prenatal care and healthcare for 19 years. I travel 180 miles round trip for every appointment because I won't see another obgyn.
Dr. Vanslooten has been my Dr. for over 20years. He is a very caring, thorough Dr. Would recommend him to anyone that wants the Best care �
