Had root canal done, one which was unnecessary - my regular dentist said she couldn't understand why I needed it - 2 years later need the tooth extracted, grafted and implant. The root canal was done in one day and I questioned why I don't have to come back several times he said "depends on what Dr. you go to, I like to do it in one day).
