I just visited this West Elm store today, and although there were at least six employees present, not one greeted me or offered assistance. I felt completely ignored — like a ghost walking through the store. Because of the lack of customer service and attention, I decided not to make any purchases. It’s unfortunate, because I genuinely love West Elm’s style, but the in-store experience today was very disappointing.
Very disappointed with the store and their customer service. We were told that someone will come for an in house consultation to order the custom furniture. First time they just randomly scheduled me on a different day than the one requested. Then when I called they informed me it was an error and to give them a second chance. I honestly don’t understand how this company stays in business. We’ve spent thousands of dollars with West Elm, only to have our custom order delayed indefinitely. No one at the corporate office answers the phone—every call goes straight to voicemail. Local store staff and customer service can’t provide answers beyond: “We don’t know why your order is delayed by six months, and our managers won’t know either, so there’s no need to speak with them.” That’s the official response? Do not buy. Ordered a leathet banquet. Delivered damaged in 12 areas. The delivery company pointed out the damage. West elm said no refund as special order
Pushy salespeople. Couldn’t walk 10ft in the store without an associate being pushy with conversation. Must have told 4 different staff members 3+ times we were just browsing and would let them know if we needed help. They still kept disrupting our shopping experience. We promptly left without buying anything. I’ll stick to shopping online from here on out.
