This is a station that serves Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner with service to points North and to Los Angeles and continuing onto San Diego

Surfliner has racks for oversized baggage, in lieu of checking them. End of the car, upper level.
If you're bringing your bike you will likely be boarding car 5 towards the south end of the station/train.
Pacific Surfliner = the last car of the train is equipped with engineer controls, so that the train can be operated in either direction. This is known as a "push-pull" configuration.
Most Pacific Surfliners are equipped with bicycle & surfboard-racks allowing you to bring your bike onboard, unboxed as carry-on baggage.
Because SLO is a staffed station, if you are running late and don't wait in line for a ticket and just get on the train and purchase on board, you will pay as much as $9 extra.
