As a veteran teacher in the West Allis West Milwaukee School District, I was so thankful to hear the continued commitment the firefighters have to our schools during an "active shooter" scenario. To know that firefighters will be in our schools in the matter of minutes, along side the police taking care of injured students, brought tears to my eyes. A million thanks for protecting and serving us every day, and especially for giving us "piece of mind" if this horrendous event should ever happen in West Allis.
