NOT child friendly!!! We took are baby to get checked, the nurse got frustrated that I was nursing my baby to comfort her and left. Then took forever to return. Obviously in the mean time baby got restless as babies naturally do so I walked her around, then the Dr. came in and told me not to walk her around to sooth her. More upsetting was hearing the Dr. and nurses mom shame me behind my back while I was in the room trying to smooth my baby. NOT one of them tried to help!!!!! The entrance to the children’s hospital has cigarette butts looks like they have been there months . Peeling paint. Filthy. You can do better.
My experience is when I had procedure called a scope. It was not very fun I had to deal with rude nurses. The anesthesiologist was only partially kind to me when explaining what they were going to do along with the surgeon. But overall, it was an okay procedure, but I would just like to be addressed with, like how bad the nurses were at explaining what was going to happen and stuff They were also like, really, really rude and disrespectful towards my parents. My 2.5 y/o had an MRI here and the staff was amazing from the second we entered the unit (including the volunteer who transported us) Nurse Katie and Dr. Smith were so calm and patient with us and our daughter, they took their time to explain things, we never felt rushed, the charge RN initially greeted us and took us to our room and she was just as amazing! I’m very disappointed in our care at Wesley from Thursday morning on February 5th, 2026. Our daughter who is 10 months old, just had brain surgery in KC at Children’s Mercy two days prior. When we got home on Wednesday, she had one seizure and we called our team in KC and if she had another one, we were told to take her to the ER. Unfortunately.
