What an incredible place for a getaway where you can disconnect from all the chaos and reconnect with your life. A number of us were here once again this year for our 32nd annual ice fishing derby and it was an amazing time with incredible hosts. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible hospitality, look no further.
Wendego is exactly as advertised. It’s simple, cozy and off grid. We spent our days riding the trails on our sleds (great for all rider levels), our nights play Yahtzee in candlelight and in the wood burning sauna. We cooked on our wood stove in cast iron and whatever moment we had free, fishing in an ice hole on the lake. We stayed at Wendego Lodge this past weekend for a memorial snowmobile trip for my little brother, and once again it was an incredible experience. This was my fourth time staying here, and it just keeps getting better every visit. The hosts are truly amazing — welcoming, kind, and always going above and beyond to make you feel at home. Rustic escape! Bring water and keep the fire going. Hosts provided detailed instructions for how to get there, supplies we neglected to bring, and extras. Fabulous.
